First batch lessons

The batch finished and it is in Jita sales since 3 days now, 2 of 7 items in the batch already vanished from my sales in less than 24 hours, others still struggle, as their prices start to fall, looks like I came a bit late for the profits party.

What I can do now is to babysit the orders until the end, the harsh competition in Jita has no mercy.

The market fluctuation hits hard again, and what is profitable yesterday is barely doable today, I think this is one of the most important factors to understand in EVE Online, but it is not the only approach, I can just stop following what is profitable today and focus on what is profitable often, means to play the long game, and accept to tie few billions in sales orders for days, to do this I will rectify my sales strategy as per the following:

1.   revise / add more items to the manufacturing batch to spread the risk of fluctuation, now I have 7 items, I will rise to 10.

2.   Reserve 30% of my output to be sold in Amarr hub and accept the fact that it may takes time.

The second batch has been already started with the previous list of manufacturing, guess I will apply these corrections in the coming one.

First steps

Enough theory! Time for action, after subbing in the game for 6 months, and renewing my EVEGuru sub, I made some rearrangements in my previous industrial base, it is an NPC station less than 10 jumps from Amarr, the system has low industry index and most important low population, also there is an adjacent non-industrial system for future anchoring of a Raitaru (mid term goal if needed).

Day 1:

I chose seven T2 items to build as a first batch, some of the BPOs are not in my library, so I did the run and bought them all.

First thing first is to start having some quick copies for T2 invention; thanks god I don’t need fully researched copies.

For the components, I just bought fully researched BPO from the contracts market.

Heading back to Amarr, I bought the missing materials and hauled them to the base and launched the components manufacturing.

Day 2

Quick copies ready, some components ready, time to launch T2 invention, did some errors in number of jobs (as usual).

I launched some T1 variant manufacturing, launched also the TE and ME efficiency jobs before manufacturing the missing T1.

Day 3

Most of invention is done, I need to wait another day for the T1 to finish, for sure this is the most messy and inefficient batch, as it is the first one and it is delayed by the ME and TE research, surely the whole process efficiency will rise in the future.

Back to the drawing board

After 2 days of market data crunching, I got a general view about the actual situation of the industry and the market.

It seems that the T2 market is good right now if you know what to build, and in addition of the previously learnt lessons I came up with the following strategy:

1.        Downscaling the manufacturing of bowheads until further notice.

2.        Build a list of reasonably profitable items for production rotations.

3.        Starting the manufacturing of T2 protective modules and T2 turrets and launchers.

4.        Staying close to Amarr hub for various reasons: relatively cheap basic materials, near systems with low industry tax and low competition in buy orders.

5.        Using a nearby T2 rigged Tatara for reactions.

6.        Using hauling services to ship to Jita and sell there.

7.        Restarting my refining business.

8.        Do some data analysis to find if it is doable to convert my PI business to produce robotics and support my T2 production operations.

On paper this plan looks great, but the reality could be a whole another story, let see.

The start of the journey

 Hi All,

This is the first post of my blog for my journey through eve online to be a successful industrialist.

I already have several years of experience in eve, playing solo and doing industry, now in June 2025 I start documenting and sharing my actions and thoughts on how to become a successful industrialist.

I just came back from a several months hiatus so I think it is the best moment to start doing this.

My starting situation is the following:

  1. One account with 3 characters, trained for industry, invention and reactions (30 slots total).
  2. A net wealth of 66 billions isk with 23 billions isk as cash.
  3. Many ships for hauling.
  4. Established PI business in WH generating around 110 millions isk daily (doing P1 only).
  5. A good library of BPOs and reaction formulas.

During last years I was specialized in bowhead, astrahus and some T2 modules manufacturing, plus doing reactions to support my industrial pipeline and sell the excess.

Another income stream I used to have which is refining business, I buy raw materials very far from jita, refine it to max (RX-804 implant, tatara, T2 rig) and sell them, I made a good isk like this, hope it is still viable to do so.

Below is my financial situation from 1 year ago for sake of reference.

Let's dive in?
